Room to relax and explore
With a 12 ft wrap around porch, its easy to spend time watching local wildlife, reading a book or bird watching. The grounds surrounding the cabin are joined to the Rich Mountain Battlefield Foundation (some private land also) and make for a great day of hiking and exploring. Spend the evenings around the campfire making s'mores at the firepit (kindling and firewood are provided).
Layout
The cabin sports an open floor plan (no bedrooms) with a small private bath. The kitchen is fully furnished with all utensils, pots & pans, hand towels, small appliances etc. All bed and bath linens are provided although we do recommend bringing your favorite pillow along! The queen sized bed and sleeper bed can comfortably sleep three or four guests nightly.
Being away from constant technology is one of the many benefits of our cabin. We do keep a small TV (local channels only, no cable or satellite) and DVD player for enjoying those rainy or snowy days where you can't get outside. There are no land line phones or wi-fi here. Nearby cell towers (some 4G, carrier dependent) will allow you maintain contact at home if you need to. Why not consider simply turning off your mobile devices to enjoy that much needed solitude without interruption. |
Breathtaking sunsets are a normal part of life here. End each evening with a quiet dinner on the covered porch and feel the stresses just melt away. Far away from the city lights, you can easily count the stars to your hearts content.
